A lot of bloggers start their blogs with the aim to be seen as an authority in their field and to start making enough money to feed themselves and their family over time only to realize that they can’t get results from blogging without enough traffic. As time goes on they decide to shift their focus to generating more traffic only to realize that traffic alone won’t do the trick.

Being a blogger has constant challenges and one of those challenges is that you have to be learning new things regularly. It once came to a moment when I got stuck on my medifast and nutrisystem blog – I had enough traffic, but just can’t convert it to money. Over the years I have learned a lot of lessons both from my success and failure and I will be giving you my tips below.

Differentiate Yourself and Position Yourself as an Expert

The first step you have to take towards ensuring you get a lot of results from the traffic to your blog is to position yourself as an expert. All that traffic won’t help you if you can’t give your readers reasons to pay attention to you instead of the other bloggers in your field.

There are hundreds of millions of blogs in the blogosphere today and millions of new blogs are created every day. There is just too much advice that people no longer know who to listen to and you can easily use them to your advantage.

The first step you need to take is look for smaller aspects of your niche to cover, for me those smaller aspects were talking about nutrisystem and medifast. Once you have covered these smaller aspects you should start working on centering your content on them and making yourself the #1 authority on those smaller aspects.

Improve the Sources of Your Traffic

The next step you should take towards getting more results from the traffic to your blog is to start working on improving the sources of traffic to your blog. Make sure you observe where the most of the traffic to your blog comes from and then work on weeding out the poor traffic sources and then capitalizing on the sources that yield the most traffic.

It is also very important for you to focus your efforts on generating quality traffic that yield results, not just any source of traffic that will boost your numbers.

Create a Funnel

The final step you have to take to ensure you are able to get the best from your traffic on the long run is to create a funnel. The main aim of your funnel will be to stop you from worrying over traffic all the time but to help you ensure you are able to get your visitors to keep on reading your blog as time goes on. This funnel can be in the form of an email list, it can be in the form of your blog RSS feed and it can be in the form of your social media profiles. Either ways, look for a way to be able to get your visitors to start reading your blog over time.
