Formatting your PC (Personal Computer)

Here PC in the title refers to “Personal Computer”. By formatting a PC your erase all the data that currently residing in your hard drive as well as all of the programs settings saved on your computer. This can be done using any of the operating systems such as Windows 7, Linux, Mac, etc  present in the market. After you are done with formatting your computer, it will be in the same condition as it was when you first purchased it.
Now if your wondering how to format a PC? and if you need tips on how to format your PC then you are in the right place, I will show you how to format a PC? in very easy steps.

But before we begin our tutorial let us first dwell into the reasons that are responsible for formatting your computer.

These reasons may be as follows

• Virus Attack : Virus attack is the most common reason why many format their system. In most of the cases the virus can be cleaned using Antivirus, in other times formatting is necessary.
• Corrupt files: There are times when your Windows OS might crash in the middle of your work and you might not recover your system back to its original state. This is the instance when you format your computer.
• Hidden Reasons : Sometimes you might not understand the reason why your computer is acting strangely For example  it might get stuck, restart automatically. These system bugs can’t be fixed.

Steps below will answer your question of “How to format a PC?”

1. Firstly choose an Operating system to format your Hard Disk. There are several Operating System’s (Windows XP, Windows XP 2, Windows XP 3, Windows 7, Linux,  Etc)  and then place your CD in your CD drive.
2. Press any key when you see the prompt on the monitor that tells you to “press any key to boot from the disc”.
3. Next select your language, region and date when you get the Installation Window for language and Region Setup.
4. Then you will get “I Accept the License Terms” check this box to accept license terms. And continue.
5. Now you will be shown a box that asks you what type of Installation you require “Custom” or  “Upgrade“. Use custom to install a fresh copy of operating system and Upgrade if you wish to upgrade your present operating system
6. Then you will be shown a window that asks you for the drive partitions, before this format all the drives in NTFS format also select the partitions size according to your requirement.
7. After you  are done with the installation procedure that takes 40-50 Minutes roughly. You will be asked to type in the Serial Key. You can also type it after configuring you PC.
