Videocon the business group plans to set up its first mobile phone manufacturing plant in India and the investment can go up to 75 crores in the initial phase.The videocon company is looking to do sales of 2.5 million mobile handsets by next year and is currently watching for locations for the new plant across the country and particularly in kerala,Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Actually videocon is eagerly waiting to open its Mobile phone manufacturing plant in India by next year.Currently they are sourcing for Original Equipment Manufacturers and very soon they are going to start “Videocon Industries.”This company sells electronics like Televisions,refrigerators and had entered in to the Mobile phone area last year,which lies under the brand “Videocon.”

States like Madhya Pradesh,Kerala and Chhattisgarh invited Videocon and the decision has not yet finalised.This decision will be taken for next year in February or March.Till now it has made the sales around 1.5 million mobile phones and is planning to go for 66 percent in sales to 2.5 units by next year.

For the manufacturing of the plant, it may cost around minimum of 75 Crores and the minimum investment is 50 to 75 crores.Currently Videocon has seven plants in Gujarat,Uttarkhand,Karnataka,Andhra Pradesh ,Maharashtra and West bengal.
